♥ charged particles
leptons or quarks? electrons or positrons? matters or anti matters?
oppositely charged particles attract.. that is true for all matter.. at least for my limited knowledge.. just a cross (+) and a dash (-).. to an ignorant being, would he have thought that these would attract..
cathode (negatively charged electrode) and anode (positively charged electrode) are connected, charges flow which is known as current.. and when these electrodes come together, sparks are formed.. thought it is usually learnt in physics, but chemistry does apply.. (i still can recall burying myself in the chapter of electrochemistry in JC)
i think the same principle applies on lightning.. the cloud and wind moved such a way that air at high altitude is ionized.. being negatively charged, it is attracted to the positive Earth.. and TA-DA! bolts of lightning!
and for each and everything else, there exists opposite shadow.. there's always 2 sides to a coin.. yet as we go down to the fundamental details, we would go haywire and not knowing whether we make sense anymore..
